The second competition of the RCC year was held on October 22, 2024   –  Leading Lines.  The winning images have been posted on the Competitions page of the website.     

The third competition of the RCC year was held on November 26, 2024, with the subject “Faces”.  The winning images have been posted on the Competitions page of the website.    

Note that we will not be meeting on December 24th.

February 25, 2025              Competition – Travel beyond 50 miles.  Judge: Frank Gallagher.  An image beyond 50 miles of Leisure World that portrays the land, buildings, people, or culture in its natural (not posed) state. This does not include images of the act or mode of traveling, e.g., inside an airplane or a train crossing a bridge.

March 25, 2025                   Competition – Cityscape – Judge:  Matthew Mahlstedt.  An image that captures urban                                                                     landscapes,  i.e. manmade features like streets and tall buildings are the focus of cityscape                                                             photography.

April 8, 2025                        Educational Program – Learn how to use the photo editing software called “FastStone Image                                                            Viewer”. 

Please pre-install the “FastStone Image Viewer” software so you can follow along with the instructor (live and via Zoom). The current version of the program (version 7.9) is downloadable from:

I also recommend downloading the related Tutorial.

During the class I will provide examples of performing the basic editing functions, including:
– Crop, Resize and Rotate;
– Change Colors & Brightness; and
– Sharpen & Reduce Noise.
