Rossmoor Camera Club meetings are generally held the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, from September to the following April, with our end of year gala in May.

2026

September 22, 2026          Competition – Norbeck Room, Clubhouse 2 starting at 7:00 pm.  Open: Competition open to all images. Post-processing allows for removal of distracting features, e.g., a limb of a tree or a passerby on the edge. However, no new images from another photo. Judge:  Joel Hoffman

September 25, 26, 27       The Rossmoor Camera Club will have a table in Clubhouse 1 to help celebrate Leisure World’s 60th Anniversary, and to promote the club.  Stop by between 11:00 and 3:00 and say hello!

October 8, 2026 

 October 6, 2026 –               (Tuesday) Board of Director Meeting at 10:00, Norbeck  Rossmoor Room,  Clubhouse 2. 

October 13, 2026                 Program – Norbeck Room, Clubhouse 2 starting at 7:00 pm.  Smartphone photography presented by Michael Koren.   Smartphone Photography – Unlock the full potential of your smartphone camera in this practical and inspiring presentation focused on taking better photos. Using examples from street photography, we’ll explore simple camera settings that can make a big difference in challenging lighting, and everyday shooting situations, along with easy-to-apply tips for composition. We’ll also take a brief look at basic photo editing using built-in phone tools to help you turn good images into great ones. Whether you’re new to smartphone photography or simply want to get more from the camera already in your pocket, you’ll leave with practical tips you can start using right away..  You can see Michael’s web pages at

October 17, 2026                (Saturday) Maryland Room at 3:00.  Bob Kaplan will present a Documentary on Movement of Resources by Train.  The documentary will include Bob’s amazing photos of trains and their infrastructure.

October 27, 2026                Competition – Norbeck Room, Clubhouse 2 starting at 7:00 pm  SubjectCurves: The main subject of the photo includes one or more curves. The curves may be man-made (e.g. building, road, etc.) or nature (e.g., tree stump, shoreline, etc.) objects.   Judge: Lori Saunders

November 10, 2026           Program –  Norbeck Room, Clubhouse 2 starting at 7:00 pm.  Black & White Photography Presented by Lewis Katz.

November 24, 2026           Competition – Norbeck Room, Clubhouse 2 starting at 7:00 pm Architecture: Photos of manmade structures or parts thereof.  Judge:  Janet Little

December 8 or 10, 2026   Tuesday or Thursday – Holiday Dinner, in the Maryland Room at 6:00 PM. We need to have a discussion with Sodexo in October or November.

January 12, 2027               Program – Norbeck Room, Clubhouse 2 starting at 7:00 pm  Kent Mason will present an educational program with the theme, “Visual Design & Composition” including examples from his superb photography.

January 16, 2027               Mid Atlantic Chapter of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) will meet in the Maryland Room in Clubhouse 1.  Agenda TBD.

January 26, 2027               Competition – Norbeck Room, Clubhouse 2 starting at 7:00 pm.  Open Subject: Open Subject: Advanced techniques allowed, unrestrictive. Every item of the image must be from the submitting photographer.  Composite images that include several elements from other photographs, including textures, sky replacement, the moon, etc. may be combined into one image.  AI generated images or image elements are not permitted.   Judge: Beth Haubach

February 9, 2027               Program Norbeck Room, Clubhouse 2 starting at 7:00 pm. Planning, Preparation, and Taking Great Travel Pictures, presented by Arik Gorban

February 18, 2027            (Thursday) Board of Director Meeting at 10:00, Location TBD, Clubhouse 2

February 23, 2027            Competition – Norbeck Room, Clubhouse 2 starting at 7:00 pm.  Subject – Still Life: A grouping of inanimate objects arranged by the photographer. Photo may be made indoors or outside.  Judge: Janet Sifers

March 9, 2027                    Program –  Norbeck Room, Clubhouse 2 starting at 7:00 pm 

March 23, 2027                 Competition –  Norbeck Room, Clubhouse 2 starting at 7:00 pm.  Sunrise/Sunset: Images will feature the glow from the sun as the primary subject, but may include other elements, e.g., trees and people.  Judge: Judy Graham   

April 8, 2027                      (Thursday) Board of Director Meeting at 10:00, Location TBD

April 13, 2027                    Program – Norbeck Room, Clubhouse 2 starting at 7:00 pm

April 27, 2027                   Competition – Norbeck Room, Clubhouse 2 starting at 7:00 pm.  End of Year up to three images recognized by a judge in the 2025-26 competitions.   Judge:  Bidyottam Mittra

May 11, or May 13 2027          (Tuesday – may be moved to Thursday May 13)  RCC Annual Meeting and Banquet, in the Maryland Room at 6:00.

May 20, 2027                     (Thursday)  LW Club Fair – Crystal Ballroom CH1 10:00 to Noon.
