Last week MPA announced the following categories for its 2025 fall contest:
Long Exposure: keep the camera’s shutter open for an extended period, allowing moving elements to blur, capturing stationary elements sharply, creating a sense of motion, smoothing out dynamic elements, or just creating artistic effects.
Musical Story: tell a musical story, portraying sound (instruments, musicians, performances) in a visual medium.
4-Legged Animals: take images of quadrupeds (4 legs – no more, no less), in any situation or setting.
Seasons: capture “seasonal scenes” such as winter weather or sports, spring growth or colors, summer heat (or relief), or dramatic fall colors. Images can be landscapes, people, or animals, but must tell the viewer what the season is.
There is plenty of time before the contest is open for submissions, so keep these categories in mind when out photographing.
